Once you have restored all the faded bonds in Code Vein 2 related to character, as part of exploration you can now do side quests. These side quest appear as request from a certain NPC.
After defeating José the Blind you will se Valentin in 2187/2197 Exploration era. Go to MagMell and speak to Valentin to start the quest. Valentin will ask you to find 4 Tomes scattered through out the map which he needs research purpose.

All 4 Tome Locations in Code Vein 2
All these tomes are tied to a boss fight after defeating each boss you will have access to the tome requested by Valentin’s. The exact coordinated of the Tome location are not given by him only the area is mentioned and rest is up to you. Here’s necessary detail that you need to find each Tome in Code Vein 2.
Tome Location #1 (Book Of Lost Time I)
Go to the Southern side of MagMell to enter the Shoreline Cavern. Enter the cave and follow the path up to temporal rift. Go to the other side by using the double doors where you will enter the Boss arena of Slaughter Engine Golaith.
Defeat the Golaith to complete the first request of Valentin’s and get first Tome.

Tome Location #2 (Book Of Lost Time II)
Fast travel to the Cliffside Ruins in Sunken city. To its north-east side there is Cultist Altar. The path is not that much straight forward here’s the detailed images that you can follow to reach there.
First go inside the hotel building and take the elevator upward. There is an open area to your right where you can register a save point as well. To its left there is a collapsed building with a small entrance in it. Go inside that fallen building and climb up the ladder to your right.
On this floor take one right and two left and you should find a broken slab of a floor or roof giving you way on the upper floor.
Explore the upper hallway and go all the way around by taking two left and one right leading you to the next floor by using a fallen slab again using small stair step along the way. At the end of the path hit the pink glowing plant that will reveal the hidden path of Cultist Altar. Go up from there using ladder and head to the hidden path from the mistle. To make things easy just follow the markers on the map.
Enter the cave and go through the double door to face Biosis Cod. Defeat the boss to get the second Tome in Code Vein 2.

Tome Location #3 (Book Of Lost Time III)
Third tome location is near the Northern Mine site cave in the Corroded Scar’s Mine. You can easily fast travel there. Enter and just follow the path to enter the rift and face Queen of the rift to complete third Valentin’s Tome request.

- Ichor Rejuvenative
Tome Location #4 (Book Of Lost Time IV)
The final tome is marked deep within the hidden Cult’s Cave in the Undead Forest. Once you have passed through the Temporal Rift you wont be facing a single boss here but instead there is a wave of 3 enemies. Kill them all to have the fourth and last tome.
