The Mountain Underground Facility in Code Vein 2 is a hidden map in the Sunken City. In that Underground Mountain facility is a locked door whose key is not available as a collectible item but rather it is tied to some side quest, story progression and a boss fight that you can’t even skip. Finding the Underground Facility key is difficult because when you try to open the door there are no further directives given on how you can get the facility key in Code Vein 2.
To get the Underground Mountain Facility Key you will be completing these steps:
- Progress Josee’s Character Questline and Collect three Spices
- Defeat the Spice Predator Boss to get the key
Location Of Underground Mountain facility in Code Vein 2
The Underground Mountain facility is located in the Sunken city near the mistle of Checkpint Ruins. Fast travel there and head to the east direction from it.
To your right there is path descending to a small room with a lever inside it. Pull the lever to use the elevator and travel down to the secret passage of Mountain Underground Facility.
Don’t enter the Mountain facility if you have not completed Josee’s quest.
After exploring the facility, you will find a locked door that you cannot open without the key. Here the map of the Underground facility.
Complete Josee’s Quest in Code Vein 2
If you are already done with Josee’s request then you might want to skip this portion and proceed with the Underground Facility, but in case you don’t have the key to the facility you need to complete his request. After defeating Josee the Blind Hero you can now have his character quests in form of request.
First free Josee from her cocoon and travel to her past using the bond at MagMell. When you start working with her in the past she needs three special spices for her family’s curry. The location of these spices is not random, and they appear in specific location that is part f other character quest. I’ll share how quickly and easily you can get these three spices to complete Josee request and the facility key as well.
Spice Location #1(Hot Spice via Saving Holly)
The clue that is given for the first location of spice is:
“Undead forest: Inside the Withered Green House”
Head to the eastern side of the Undead Forest where there is a Withered Green House Mistle or you fast travel to the point as well. This location is pretty easy to find if you have saved Holly.
Once you are there enter the green house and to your right you will find the hot spice.
Spice Location #2 (Sunken City)
When you start the Josee request the only clue you get is
Sunken City: Inside the mall, north of the Sunken Pylon”
In the Sunken City fast travel to the Western Gatehouse Ruins Mistle and follow the road as indicated in the map until you will reach a large abandoned building flooded with water. Watch out of the enemies outside the building. Clear the area and enter the building.
go straight ahead using the stairs then after taking two rights one left and right again using fallen platforms you will reach a demolished room with a bed in it.
The Rich Spice will be on the right side of the bed on a small table, pick it up to complete the second Josee’s request.
Spice Location #3 (Corroded Scar)
The clue for the spice location that you get from Josee is:
“Corroded Scar: Inside the Northern Watch Fort at the northern most point of the Corroded Scar”
First to have access to this area you must unlock free Exploration era after completing Lyle’s quest. Lyle’s quest involves you to release from his cocoon by defeating him. So, before you start finding the key for underground mountain facility finish Lyle’s story timeline.
After completing the above-mentioned quest, you can reach the desired location to get the spice by using fast travel mistle of Northern Watch fort which is the closest. If you don’t have access to that then try considering Miner’s Abandoned Village Mistle that is in the east direction. Here’s the directives to reach there from both mistles
- Northern watch Fort: Go up the hill and you will easily unlock the desired region
- Miner’s Abandoned Village: Follow the main road down in the north direction
Once you reach outside the northern watch fort enter and go straight ahead to activate the mistle. Then head upstairs from the right side of the mistle using stairs. At the end of the stairs to your left there is door, open it where there is an enemy waiting for you. Walk straight ahead and use the ladder to go up.
The ladder will take you in an open area, go inside to your left and go down using several jumps using platforms.
From down there go right until you reach in room with elevator lever. In that room you will also get Pure Platinum as collectible.
use the elevator to up and walk straight ahead from the elevator door where you will face three enemies behind that door.
After clearing the room go across the room and head left downstairs. Head straight and at the end of the path open the door to your left and find the map jammer there. Just to its right, after hitting the map jammer you can easily pick the Aromatic Spice.
After collecting all the three spices go back to Josee in MagMell. After a cutscene she will give you, the food using the three spices that you have to her but still something is missing, one last ingredient. Talk to her again by selecting Catch up and you will unlock Josee’s second request. Head back again to the Underground Mountain Facility with her this time.
Defeat Spice Predator Boss and Get Key
This time when you reach the area of locked door there is a boss Spice Predator guarding the last spice.
Defeat the boss by smartly dogging his rush, head swipe & smash attacks to end the fight quickly and easily. Once defeated there is a cutscene where Josee will explain about her mother’s spice history and you will get the key to Underground Mountain Facility. As reward from there you will get Plagueward Runeleaf.
