As part of the alternate ending of saving Lyle in Code Vein 2, you need to find limestone cave and find Retainer in that cave to defeat him.
It is part of the main story so you cant miss this one out. There are two Retainer boss fight to progress further in the game. One is in the Abandoned land and the other one in Limestone cave. The location of the one in the abandoned land is easy but the one in the Limestone cave is a bit tricky.
The location of the retainer is marked on the map but due to the two dimension(top view) of the map you cant reach there straight by heading east, which I tried in my first attempt.
Prerequisites:
- Progress Lyle’s questline (visit Forward Base One/Two).
- Fast travel to Forward Base Two Mistle in Corroded Scar.
How to Get to Limestone Cave in Code Vein 2
To the reach the limestone cave first reach the forward base two. From there take the south bridge elevator.
Once you reach down, go right into the Crystal Grotto Cave and follow the path until you reach a point where the path splits to two. Take the path to you right
Go straight ahead and you will reach an open area where there is a glowing pink plant at the edge of the cliff. The path seems to end here. Hit that glowing plant to reveal a hidden path down the edge of the cliff.
Jump down from the edge leading to Limestone Cave Entrance. There is a mistle near the entrance as well.
Retainer Location
From the Limestone cave mistle, head straight until you reach a blocked path by white mist interact with it to go to the other side of the path. Retainer is on the other side of the blocked path waiting for you. Defeat him to progress further in the game.
How to Defeat the Ravenous Predator

Use Assassin or Queenslayer Blood Code (DEX/bleed focus), sharp blades like Venom Slicer or Bayonet for bleed, Gifts such as Dirty Claw, Venom Mark, and Acid Resist, with Iris or Craig as partner (tanky aggro).
This is an easy boss fight as long as you avoid the charge attacks where it charges back and fourth toward you twice. Keep some consumable around to cure ailments if you get hit with the Poison Projectile.
