In Mewgenics there isn’t a simple button or menu that lets you reset all skills and abilities on a cat like in some other games. You can’t just “respec” a cat’s build directly in base game settings.
The first thing you need to know is that the game will not offer a free respec. When you go out to battle with your cats and come back, one of the cats will level up and you will be able to choose an ability for that cat. Since the game doesn’t offer a built-in reset system, what players call “respec” is really rerolling which ability options appear when leveling up, not undoing selections you’ve already made in the usual game UI.
How to Reroll in Mewgenics
To reroll or change the ability option you get while leveling up a cat, you must equip items that allow you to do that. Consumables like D6 and Furry Dice let you reroll skills and abilities. Using these items, you can keep rerolling the abilities until you see the one you really like.
But choices that are already made cannot be changed in any way in Mewgenics. D6 and Furry Dice are acquired through loot, and vendors like Lucy/Tracy.
Additionally, you can use the Chaos controller through Dr. Beanies invention quests. This item also allows you to have multiple rerolls at level up and lets you see abilities from any class, expanding the skills pool for you.
If you unlock the Jester class and collect pieces of its set (like Jester Cap), you also get stacks of rerolls each time a cat levels and access to abilities from all classes. That doesn’t undo past choices, but it makes future ability choices much more flexible.
Lastly, there is an item called the Ninny Stick which is arguably the worst way to reroll in Mewgenics. In addition to level up rerolls, it rerolls a cat’s equipped item at the end of battle and can affect ability options indirectly.
| Item | Rerolls | Extra Effects | How to Get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furry Dice | 1 | +1 Luck (crit/RNG boost) | Loot, battles, Lucy/Tracy shops |
| D6 | 2 | Levels cat faster | Loot, battles, vendors |
| Chaos Controller | 3 | All class abilities available | Dr. Beanies invention quests |
| Ninny Stick | 1+ | Rerolls equipped items post-battle | Clear Act 3-Jurassic w/ Jester |

Jester items and the Jester’s Soul
Hunter, Mage, and other classes aren’t the only ones you have in Mewgenics. There is a late game class called Jester, and you unlock this class after clearing Act 3. The complete Jester set bonus allows you to have multiple rerolls on level up.
| Set/Item | Rerolls | Effects & Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Jester Set (Full) | +3 | Jester Cap (+1 CHA, all classes), Bozo, Metronome. Random drops; Act clears w/ Jester. |
| Stunning Set | Triples weapon/trinket | Bag O’ Glitter (Blind), Stunning Beard/Haircut (double head/neck). Doubles/triples via Tinkerer. |
