Nintendo has posted a new career listing for Product Manager positions in its Kyoto office, including one for the Nintendo Switch 2 Home Menu. According to the job description, the role focuses on features built into the Switch 2 and original Switch that support overall user experience.
The posting explicitly lists the HOME Menu as one of the core features the successful candidate will work on, along with Game Chat, local wireless communication, Virtual Game Cards, Game News, Album, and various system settings.

Nintendo Switch 2 / Nintendo Switch consoles include various features such as the HOME Menu and Game Chat that support the gaming experience. You will contribute to the development and improvement of these features to enhance the gaming experience for customers worldwide.
The Switch 2 launched last year with a Home Menu design that is very similar to the original Switch. The design, while clean, is often criticized for being bland. Especially close to the launch of Switch 2, many fans were disappointed by the lack of major visual changes and upgrades or any form of deep customization options.

However, it seems Nintendo has finally got the time to work on the Switch 2 Home Menu design. The job listing is not just maintenance but it’s about actively developing and improve Switch 2 Home Menu, Game News, Virtual Cards, and other core features.
When will we see changes to the UI? Can’t say but this has been a long time coming. Some of the most requested features for the Nintendo Switch 2 Home Menu are:
| Rank | Feature |
|---|---|
| 1 | Custom Themes & Backgrounds |
| 2 | Folders & Game Organization |
| 3 | More Customization Options |
| 4 | Menu Music / Ambient Sound |
| 5 | Widgets & Live Information |
| 6 | Better Social Integration |
| 7 | 3DS/Wii U Style Visual Flair |
| 8 | Quick Settings / Improved Shortcuts |
| 9 | Multiple User Profiles Visibility |
| 10 | Media Apps / Entertainment |
