Starsand Island allows your character to romance close to 30 characters. You can befriend them, unlock perks through them, complete side quests for them, and eventually with high enough affection you can romance many of the NPCs/villagers in Starsand Island.
While gifts is not the only way to increase affection, it is the most convenient I would say. You can get them what they want and eventually enter a romance.
How Gifts Work in Starsand Island
To increase an NPCs affection toward you complete their related quests, run errands, complete Request Board quests, and profession quests, but I would say the most effective method if giving then gifts. However, you need to know what gifts them like and dislike.
The good news is that if you give villagers a gift they don’t like, there is no downside to it. You won’t lose any affection points; you’ll just get 0 affection. Here are how many affection points you earn depending on how much they like your gift.
- Favorite: +15 Affection
- Like: +10 Affection
- Neutral: +5 Affection
- Dislike: +0 Affection
- Hate: +0 Affection
