Retro Rewind is not just about running a VHS store but it also hides certain secrets for you to find. One such secret is the hidden developer room for late-game players. It is called the Secret Cheats Room or the Developer Cheats Room. When inside, you can use this hidden room that lets you inject more cash, tweak character models, and experiment with other dev tools. But using the secret Cheats Room has its own trade-off.
Accessing the Cheats Room in Retro Rewind
You first need to unlock the cheats room. For that, the requirement is to reach level 20. The door to the Cheats Room in Retro Rewind won’t open until you reach the max store level. The fastest way to reach level 20 is hiring the best employees, serving the customers faster, maintaining a high satisfaction level.
Decorate your store and stock up on the latest popular genres of movies. Focus on legitimate play if you’re still chasing achievements, as the cheat room will lock you out of them.
Once you hit level 20 in Retro Rewind, wait for Tuesday or Thursday in-game days. Wait until closing time of the store and go to the storage room instead of closing the store right away. Go out the back door into the alley and look near the Tape Dealer’s location.

You will see a cracked open door that leads to a small office space which is the Cheats Room. Enter the room and interact with the computer on the desk. This opens the cheat menu, where you can add money, modify models, or activate other options.
Tip: You can find secret notes in the alley after reaching max store level.
Inside the Cheats Room in Retro Rewind, you can inject cash into your save file, customize character models or sizes, and access other dev tools. The room is designed as an end-game sandbox you can use to escape the core store loop.
Warning: Using any cheats in the Cheats Room will permanently disable achievements. Even entering and using the computer flags your current save file.
